Shan Patel, PsyD
Dr. Shan Patel is a Clinical Neuropsychologist specializing in concussion and mild traumatic brain injury (mTBI). He completed advanced postdoctoral fellowship training at the UPMC Sports Medicine Concussion Program in Pittsburgh, PA; an internationally recognized leader in brain injury care and research. Trained under pioneers in the field, such as Dr. Michael “Micky” Collins, Dr. Patel developed expertise within a highly specialized, multidisciplinary model that integrates precise assessment with targeted, evidence-based rehabilitation. This selective training places Dr. Patel among a small group of clinicians with advanced, systems-level expertise in concussion / mTBI management.
Dr. Patel’s clinical model is structured, outcome-driven, and designed around the full spectrum of brain injury; addressing cognitive, emotional, and behavioral factors with targeted intent. Through participation in PsyPACT, Dr. Patel expands access to care nationwide. Drawing on training from one of the worlds leading concussion programs, he has translated those principles into a modern, accessible framework, helping elevate the standard of care across state lines.
Dr. Patel is also a published clinician and researcher, contributing to the advancement of evidence-based approaches in concussion and brain injury care. His work focuses on translating complex data into clear, actionable treatment strategies across both acute and persistent presentations.

Dr. Patel also currently serves as the Clinical Director of the University Orthopedic Care (UOC) Concussion Program, and Integrative Behavioral Health Program in Florida, overseeing clinical operations across 14 hospital-based locations statewide. He serves patients and referral partners throughout Florida, and provides specialized consultation for individuals and organizations seeking expert-level mild traumatic brain injury (mTBI) services.
